Trying to see the bright side

Yep, those are mine. Hudson, Sadie, and I were going to go to Nate's softball game last night and as I was walking through the carport I slipped in some oil and fell down. My first concern was Hudson. I was carrying him in his carseat, and it slammed on the ground. Thankfully he was strapped in tight and other that a few tears from being startled by the jolt he is just fine.

My left leg was in a lot of pain, I tried to get up but couldn't ( I was sure I had broken something) so I yelled for help and within a few minutes we had a bunch of people surrounding us and calling 911. The ambulance and fire truck arrived almost immediately. I couldn't believe how fast they got there. I fumbled through my purse to find my phone to call Nate to tell him what happened, and he was home within 10 minutes.

So I took a nice little ambulance ride to the hospital while Nate loaded Hudson in the car and followed behind. Of course they offered me pain meds but when I told them I was breast feeding all I could have was extra strength Tylenol. 2 hours and about 10 or 12 x-rays of my leg, knee, ankle, and foot later they determined I had seriously sprained my knee and foot, but nothing was broken. They immobilized my knee with a brace, gave me crutches and sent me home.

Taking care of Hudson is going to be interesting while Nate is at work, I guess we'll just have to hang out in the living room on the couch. But what is going to be even more difficult is trying to move. That's right I said move. Nate put his 2 week notice in yesterday so we will be back in Utah the last week of October! I don't know how excited Nate is about it, but I'm so anxious to get back. I just hope I'm a fast healer and will be back on my 2 feet again soon!

I am sorry that I am just barely leaving a comment about this. I read your post a long time ago and thought I had left words of encouragement but apparently I didn't. I am so sorry that you are on crutches, I can't imagine that. Luckily you are back in Utah and we are going to have a great time at lunch this week with the kiddos.
