Happy Birthday to Me!

Yesterday was my birthday...It was a big one, one that I have been dreading for 5 years. To add to the crappiness of the day, Nate had to work late so we wouldn't really be able to celebrate together. I would've liked to stay in bed all day and just let it go by, pretending it never happened. That could not and did not happen however.

The day started off like it always does, Zoe woke up to be fed at 7 then went right back to bed, so I did too. Hudson woke up at 10, so I went in to get him and he told me "poopy mommy." I asked him if he needed to poop, he said yes, and I asked him if he wanted to go in the toilet. Again, he said yes. He has tried before and just sits and plays for a few minutes then he's over the toilet thing. Today was different though!! He actually went in the toilet! Wahoo!! What a great way to start my day.

Then it was time for me to get ready for lunch with some of the girls, Kami (and Jax), Tawni (and Stella), Laura (who was baby free, lucky girl), and KayDee (and Jordan and Saidee). Of course I was late due to a blow out by Zoe, and a battle with Hudson to get dressed, and a couple of unforeseen events, but my wonderful friends waited patiently at Olive Garden for us to finally arrive. I always have a great time with these girls and their kids. I feel bad that we didn't take a single picture.

The original plan had been to go swimming after lunch, but the kids were kinda done after lunch so we skipped swimming. As I was driving home I decided home was the last place I wanted to be, it was a mess and I didn't want to deal with it so I took Hudson and Zoe to Despicable Me. It was really funny!!

Zoe slept through most of the movie, and was asleep when it ended. On the way home from the movie Hudson fell asleep so I was hoping for a little nap with the kids, but as soon as I got Zoe out of the car she woke up, but she was super happy and smiley so I was fine with it. I laid her on the bed and started playing with her and the best thing happended...She laughed! Her little giggle sealed the deal for me...It was officially my best birthday ever! It was a day of firsts for my kids and I couldn't have been happier.

Nate finally got home from work at a little after 7 and we met up with Dave and Judy for dinner at Samurai 21, which was delicious.

I was able to have a fun girl's day in Vegas with my mom on Wednesday. It was a little like the "good old days" with no husbands or kids requiring our attention. It was just she and I shopping until we could shop no longer! I had my make up done at the MAC store, we had dinner at Cheesecake Factory, and just really enjoyed talking with my mom.

It was a good birthday, despite the mental issue I am having with turning 30...I mean 29

I'm glad you had a good day and so fun for your kids firsts. Those are the best. Sorry I never texted you back. Its been a crazy week of events and I swear I haven't had any time. But lets do something this week please!!!! I need to get diapers at costco so I'll have to come one day this week. I'll figure it out and let you know.

30 is a hard one...I hated it! But, like it or not, we're all getting older. Before you know it we'll be turning 40....NOOOOOOO!!!

Yay for your birthday - it was so much fun to celebrate your special day. I feel like I haven't had enough snuggle time with Zoe lately. I need to love on her next time we get together.

Happy 29th Birthday! (you're welcome)
